Their pelt colorations are usually off-black or dark cold brown in color. They always seen with stripes on their chests, rumps, tails, and face. Some Beopakas have more stripes than average. They hardly have any lighter markings.
They are related to Kogekugas, so Beopakas are sometimes mistaken for melanistic Kogekugas due to their similar build, despite contrasting facial features. Diet
Beopaka are completely carnivorous. Due to their dark pelts, they prefer to hunt at night. They can hunt down prey larger than themselves. They prefer to hunt alone, though they can also hunt in groups when necessary.
Behavior
Azulkai Beopakas are known for their secretive, independent and cunning nature. They are most active during the night, not only due to their dark pelts, but also for their excellent night vision. This allows them to blend in perfectly in the dark of night, making them the perfect assassin or thief. They tend to sleep during the day, though preferably underneath the shade or inside rocky caves and dens as the heat can be too much for them. They tend to bask in the sunlight sometimes, though only for a limited amount of time. It is said that they do so to cleanse themselves of infection and parasites that are usually found in the savannahs of the Skystorm and Redblood prefectures. They often groom to keep themselves cool before napping. They are nocturnal, meaning they are the most active during the night. They can live in groups, but will prefer to be solitary or in a mated pair.
They are often in positions like merchants, spies and assassins. They are taught from an early age how to use their dark pelts to their advantage. Due to their low magical power, but good physical power, most Beopakas prefer fighting in close range. They take pride in their innate strength, though they are also known to be good talkers. Due to their excellent negotiation skills, they are capable of making connections with other species as they see fit. Reproduction and Growth process
Cubs are born blind and deaf for over one week, before gaining eyesight. They are born without their stripes for a few days, and then they will gain them a week after they are born. They will gain enough strength to walk after two weeks. If the cub does not survive, the mother will eat the corpse for it is believed that it will be enough to nourish their next litter. After 3 months, they will be introduced to meat, so that they will be weaned from their mother's milk not long after.
After 6 months, they can come out of their den during the night with parental supervision. Cubs at this age are naturally curious and often wander away from their parents, which can sometimes lead them into trouble. Therefore, the parents have to keep an eye on their cubs. After seven years, they are allowed to wander without parental supervision. Either parent will teach the cub how to hunt. This is where they start to learn to be independent. After at least 10 years, they will become independent from their parents, and they must be able to find food for themselves. Some cubs stay with their parents to help raise their unborn or newborn siblings. After 13 years, they will have a sudden growth spurt, and will start sleeping more than average. Also, they will have been able to hunt on their own. There have been a few cases where a cub stays with their parents for a lifetime, even past adulthood. Trivia
